| At 11:19am Station 53 with Tower 53 were dispatched with other mutual aid units to assist Station 46 with a reported Commercial Structure Fire. Numerous calls were received reporting black smoke coming from the building. Chief 46 could see a large column of smoke coming from the area and called immediately for the 2nd alarm. Tower 53 arrived shortly after as the 1st due truck company and were assigned to the “B” “C” corner and to setup for master stream operations. Shortly after a 3rd alarm was struck. Additionally, Pipeline 53 was dispatched as part of the LDH task force and pumped water into the scene from Trooper Road and Clarkhill Drive in Lower Providence. Due to the depleted resources in the area in addition to regional stand-by coverage, Station 53 was able to staff an additional Engine/Rescue for any additional calls. Lower Providence units were released shortly after 5pm and replaced with additional units for overnight operations. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported at this large incident.
