Lower Providence Township firefighters and our mutual aid partners had a busy and productive weekend, beginning just after midnight on Saturday morning.

The first call came in at the Colony Arms Apartments in Audubon, where crews quickly located and extinguished a small trash can fire inside an apartment. Throughout Saturday, firefighters remained active, responding to and extinguishing two separate mulch fires, handling a reported building fire on Eagleville Road, and answering a fire alarm activation in the Shannondell Community.

The Eagleville Road incident was found to be out upon arrival, but required a temporary road closure as crews deployed hose lines and ventilated smoke from the building to ensure the area was safe.

On Sunday morning, firefighters shifted their focus from emergency response to training, attending a vehicle rescue training session, "Back to Basics," hosted by ESI. The hands-on training gave responders the opportunity to refresh and sharpen their vehicle rescue skills while taking advantage of the beautiful weather and sunny skies.

Whether responding to emergencies or training to improve their abilities, our firefighters remain committed to providing the highest level of service to the residents and visitors of Lower Providence Township.

A special thank you to our firefighters, fire police, dispatchers, instructors, and mutual aid partners for their continued dedication and teamwork.

Always training. Always ready. Always serving.
