LPFD Congratulates Firefighter Ryan Wells on USAR-1 Appointment

The LPFD is honored to announce that Firefighter Ryan Wells has been selected to join Montgomery County Department of Public Safety's Urban Search & Rescue Team (USAR)!

Earning a position on USAR-1 is no small feat! Ryan successfully navigated an application and physical tryout process, competing alongside top emergency responders from across the region. His dedication, technical preparation, and perseverance throughout every stage of the selection process exemplify the highest standards of our department.

Montco USAR-1 (aka Station 20) provides specialized technical rescue capabilities including collapsed structure search, high-angle rescue, and emergency trench operations across our county and beyond. In fact, Station 20's main station is located right here in Lower Providence off of Eagleville Road in the Public Safety complex. Ryan’s selection reflects both his exceptional skill set and his unwavering commitment to training at the highest level.
