Fire Department Billing Information
In February of 2015 Lower Providence Township passed Ordinance No. 619 ammending the Township Code Chapter 79 to be Emergency Services.
In Chapter 79 Article 1 (Reimbursment of Costs) Sub Section 79-2 Authority; findings;purpose, grants the Fire Department and EMS agencies operating in Lower Providence Township the authority to seek reimbursment for reasonable costs of emergency rescue tools, equipment, and materials; hazardous material abatement tools, equipment, and materials; and personnel hours involving any hazardous material, environmental, firesafety, and/or rescue incident or operation, including vehicular accidents.
The Ordinance allows us to recover these costs from applicable insurance companies/carriers.
Article 1 Sub Section 79-3 D outlines that the reimbursment rate for the tools, materials, and equipment be set by the Fire Department and be reviewed from time to time and reviewed, submitted, and kept on file with the Township, and may only be modified from time to time by seperate resolution.

The fee schedule was appreved as part of Ordinance 619 in 2015. In May of 2024 the Fire Department submitted an ammended billing schedule. This ammendment is consistent with other Fire Department billing schedules in the region. This was approved by resolution 2024-25 by the Lower Providence Township Board of Supervisors at the May 16, 2024 business meeting.

The billing company hired by the LPFD is PA Fire Recovery Services (PAFRS)
