| Every Tuesday members gather at the station to conduct training activities and exercises.
While this weeks training may appear peculiar on the outside it has a very real importance to firefighters.
This weeks training session focused on Air Management, This training had a few simplified objectives.
First, we want members to understand that air consumption is a personalized thing that varies depending on several factors.
Second, we want members to be familiar with different methods of breathing techniques and identify what works well for them.
Last and probably the most emphasized objective of today’s training was for members to understand how much time each firefighter has before their low level air alarm activates.
This training aims to help keep firefighters calm by focusing on a joint team task, to remain calm and to communicate.
Great job to those who participated.
We had a great time conducting this valuable and entertaining training session. |
