Shortly after 4pm Tower 53 and other regional departments were dispatched with Station 27 for a structure fire in the 1000 block of West Airy Street.

Station 27 units arrived to find fire in the ceiling of the 2nd floor of the building.

Tower 53 arrived an assumed the 1st Due Truck Company Assignment. Crew deployed ground ladders, conducted a search of the buiilding, and worked with other units to open up areas in the roof to fully extinguish the fire.

As the crew was clearing the scene the Tower crew responded and assisted Station 46 (Jeffersonville Fire Co) with an odor of gas before returning to station.
