| The LPFD members started the long day a little early at approximately 6:37AM when Tower 53 was dispatched with mutual aid departments to East Airy Street in Norristown Borough for a commercial garage fire. Initial arriving units found fire showing from a 1 story commercial garage. Tower 53 arrived and assumed the first due truck responsibilities assisting with forcible entry and ventilation. BC53-1 assisted with command level functions as the first due mutual aid chief. The LPFD members were made available at roughly 7:45AM and went right into prepping for the days Santa Runs.
The members had their prep meeting a little after 8:30 and were out on the streets by 9AM helping Santa get around the town.
Members finally finished up unloading the hundreds and hundreds of pounds of food with the last crews finishing up at 4:30PM.
The members now turn their attention to prepping for tonight's snow with an anticipated 3-6 inches of snow overnight. The LPFD continues to have a committed, staffed engine/ladder and duty chief throughout the weekend.
