The Lower Providence Fire Department is dedicated to safeguarding the lives, property, and well-being of the residents, businesses, and visitors of Lower Providence Township. With two fire stations and nine state-of-the-art apparatus, our department stands ready to respond to emergencies and ensure the highest level of fire protection and emergency services.
In addition to serving our local community, we provide critical mutual aid to neighboring municipalities. This collaboration strengthens our region’s ability to respond to large-scale incidents and enhances overall public safety.
We are proud to be a 100% volunteer organization, relying on the support and dedication of our community.
Our Annual Firemen’s Fair, Fund Drive, and other fundraising efforts play a crucial role in helping us maintain our services and equipment, ensuring that we remain prepared to protect and serve at all times.

Congratulations FF Brandon Downs!

Tonight Brandon and the 41 other members of Montgomery County Fire Academy Class 2504 graduated from the Pennsylvania Entry Level Firefighter Training Program.

Busy Day for Lower Providence Firefighters

The LPFD members started the long day a little early at approximately 6:37AM when Tower 53 was dispatched with mutual aid departments to East Airy Street in Norristown Borough for a commercial garage fire. Initial arriving units found fire showing from a 1 story commercial garage. Tower 53 arrived and assumed the first due truck responsibilities assisting with forcible entry and ventilation. BC53-1 ... Nicholas participated in a fundraiser at Woodland Elementary and because he was the top fundraiser in the school he got a ride to school in a fire truck!!

We have a Boy !!

Battalion Chief Bill Murphy and his partner Brit welcomed the birth of their son, Bryson James Murphy, at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday November 29, 2025.
Bryson weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces at birth.

Santa is Coming to Lower Providence

We have FINALLY received the letter we’ve been waiting for! With the help of the LPFD elves, Santa will be making his rounds around Lower Providence in just a few short weeks!
Be on the lookout for Santa on Saturday December 13th, anytime after 8AM!
We will be taking canned goods/donations for the annual food drive while we are out and about as well.

Tower 53 Assists on Multi-Alarm Church Fire

Shortly after 6:30am Tower 53 was special called to assist on the 2nd alarm for a large church fire in Pottstown.
Tower 53 responded with a crew of 6 and was placed in service at the front of the well involved church. Crews utilized the master stream to safely assist with extinguishing the fire and protecting the homes next to the building.

Windy Sunday Keeps LPFD Busy !

Sunday Lower Providence Firefighters responded to 9 calls for service.
The day began just before 6:30am with a multi vehicle crash EB on RT 422. Crews arrived and assisted EMS with removing a subject from vehicle that struck a large deer and caused a chain reaction collision.
